QASP-S Coursework

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The QASP-S program is designed to provide individuals with the needed education and training to become certified as a Qualified Autism Service Practitioner – Supervisor, through the Qualified Applied Behavior Analysis Credentialing Board (QABA).

A QASP-S is responsible for overseeing the implementation of behavior intervention plans. They work under the guidance of a Qualified Behavior Analyst, ensuring that Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles are effectively applied to address challenging behaviors, enhance communication, develop social skills, and promote independent and daily living skills. The QASP-S plays a key role in supervising and guiding teams of ABATs to ensure the highest quality of service delivery. Work is conducted in various environments, including schools, nurseries, homes, and social care centers, with a focus on collaboration with families and other stakeholders to achieve meaningful outcomes.

WHAT ARE YOUR REQUIREMENTS?

Eligibility to apply for the QASP-S Exam with QABA, requirements are:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university for higher education 
  • Must have completed 180 hours of approved assessment-based ABA coursework or 12 semester credit units (including a minimum of 20 hours in ethics and a minimum of 15 hours in autism core knowledge)
  • 1000 hours of supervised fieldwork with a minimum of 600 hours in the role of a supervisor or program development. Duties include, but are not limited to conducting functional assessments, reviewing data, training staff or parents, advocating at team meetings. Up to 400 hours can be done as 1:1 direct care provider
  • Recommendation from your supervisor
  • Pass a criminal background check with QABA or provide a letter from your employer

Upon Completion Of The Coursework

Participants will receive:

  • Certificate of completion
  • KHDA Certificate
  • Supervised fieldwork hours with attestation

Behavior Core is an approved QASP-S content provider with QABA, as well as an approved training facility with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai. At the end of the coursework and upon passing the certification exam with the chosen board, participants will receive the internationally recognized credential of QASPS-S, opening doors to support individuals in different settings including nurseries, schools, centers, clinics and more.
